Biography
Living a sheltered life, Plexaura grew up in a poor district in Helos to simple commoner parents, most notably her mother, as she lost her father early in life. She was very close to her mother's midwife, Melisende, as well as her big brother, Caiden. She and Caiden looked out for each other - with, for instance, the over-protective and aggressive Caiden picking fights with those who teased Plexaura's strange red hair. Plexaura learned to largely keep to herself. After Caiden left, Plexaura grew even closer still to her mother and to Melisende, whose visits became still more frequent. At Melisende's behest, Plexaura began to study under her and learn her simple arts of medicine and healing as a cover for learning how to control her Gift under Melisende's mentoring.
Personality
Life has taught Plexaura to be aloof. She talks to few people and trusts still fewer, often speaking a bit tersely and saying only what needs to be said. Fiery and spirited, she seeks what she wants with determination - trouble is, she isn't yet sure what exactly she wants from life. As such, she feels directionless, which only furthers her general frustration, particularly because she wishes she could freely use her magic. Efforts to keep that magic under control has led her to try to contain her emotions... but she isn't very good at it. Be it anger or sorrow, she has a hard time getting a hold of herself, and being so young and sheltered, many things still frighten her.
