Longstriders

The Longstriders are a faction of Alfar who wander far from Elven territory either alone or in small groups, in order to gather information about the state of the world and protect it from harm. Specifically, their mission is to keep the world "in balance" according to Elven standards, which means that they usually stay neutral except when a threat is deemed so great that it could endanger the entire world - or at least the parts of it under Elven protection.

While most Longstriders act simply as ambassadors, scouts, or spies for the Alfar, reporting back to a higher authority for permission to act, the highest ranking and most trusted Longstriders are permitted to act freely and immediately, with very little oversight. These high-ranking Longstriders are called Justiciars. Among those known are Eledér and Aderyn Redfeather.
