Conduits
Just as any intelligent mortal creature can be born a mage, there are also those called conduits, born with uniquely powerful souls and connections to the souls of others. As rare as those born with Arcane power, conduits represent another phenomenon that remains shrouded in mystery. To all except a select few with ancient knowledge collected during the time of Ildrius, such as the Inquisition, conduits are a nameless fable of a raving madman hearing voices, or a witch too attuned to the emotions and thoughts of others.

Abilities
Conduits bear a number of abilities, plenty of which remain unknown and the scope of those that are known remain open to further investigation.
Hosting Souls
conduits can host other souls; other souls have the ability to communicate with their host, if the soul is powerful enough. Particularly powerful and rebellious souls become almost like a parasite, some even able to take over the host for brief periods of time and convey some of their own soul elements to the host (such as mage souls being able to transfer some magic). They share subconsciousness and sometimes share emotions, the host may relive the souls' memories in dreams, and some often hallucinate when waking. The variety of souls and how they react to the host, or how well the host can control them, remains mysterious
These individuals were known during the time of Ildrius, but their existence has been forgotten when mages were shunned and their knowledge was forbidden (probably the Inquisition knows about these kinds of people tho). Getting a soul or souls or pieces of a soul into the host, however, is generally very difficult and dangerous. Or possibly some souls know how and can latch onto/get into these kinds of people on purpose.

Insanity
most conduits go insane from the abilities and their inability to control them or turn them off
Conduits and the Inquisition
the inquisition treats conduits similarly to how they treat mages; they have fashioned void iron collars, similar to the void iron shackles for mages, to put around their necks to subdue their soul-related abilities. etc
